You cannot see any drives in 'My Computer'

Open registry editor.(Click on 'run' from start menu and type regedit and hit enter)

Navigate to this key-
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Delete "upper filters" and "lower filters" and reboot.

Note that you may see only one of them or may be both. This will delete the showing of your drives and when you reboot, windows will again make those files and you can see your drives. This solution is specific to a particular problem only. You may have other reasons for which you can't see your drives.
