During boot, the monitor suddenly garbles its image and you see horizontal lines on your screen and your computer hangs. WTF!!

Your RAM might be too low or it might be damaged. Open the cabinet, take out the RAM and clean it with petrol or similar stuff. Then let it dry and put it back again. Now boot and keep your fingers crossed.
